BORA ZIVKOVIC
- Started riding in 1971
- Favorite discipline is showjumping.
- Biggest accomplishment was becoming the go-to person at whichever barn he was retraining at; turning difficult horses with behavioral issues into kid-safe mounts.
- His favorite thing about giving lessons is seeing the smiles on kids' faces when they have a breakthrough in their riding, when something "clicks."
From Bora:
"I started riding in 1971, rode mostly jumpers and dressage through the 70s and 80s (owning 2 jumpers). I also rode racehorses for winter fitness work which paid the bills for my own two showjumpers.
I spent some time at the Belgrade racetrack working as a finish line judge, assistant racing secretary, assistant handicapper, and doping control steward. I've taught beginner through short stirrup and rode young horses at other riding programs.
I also went to vet school in the 1980s focusing on equine sports medicine and moved to the USA in 1991. Fun fact, I translated Klimke's "Cavaletti" and Blixen-Finecke's "Art of Riding" from English to Serbian."
